DHCP
DHCP, or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, is a network management protocol that simplifies IP address assignment, as well as other network configuration details, to devices in a network. It accomplishes this by automatically assigning IP addresses to devices based on their MAC addresses when they connect to the network.
